摘要：This paper investigates the value of high-skilled labor for organizational performance, focusing on the labor dynamics within lobbying firms. Exploiting exogenous variation from clients’ initiation of in-house lobbying, the analysis highlights the dual importance of professional lobbyists to both professional lobbying firms and in-house clients. Lobbyists who transition to in-house roles at client firms take on broader responsibilities, underscoring their critical value in advancing organizational objectives. Lobbying firms face significant revenue losses as clients internalize lobbying functions, not due to the direct termination of contracts with in-house clients, but as a result of the departure of key lobbyists. This exodus of lobbyists triggers a spillover effect, disrupting relationships with other clients previously served by the departing lobbyists.

主讲人：焦安琪，博士毕业于美国阿拉巴马大学，现任首都经济贸易大学金融学院讲师。焦安琪的研究领域包括：实证公司金融和政治经济金融。焦安琪曾在 Financial Management, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance 等期刊发表论文。
